The station was once an intermediate stop on the Northampton-Market Harborough railway line, which closed in 1981. Midshires Way

The Midshires Way is a long distance footpath and bridleway that runs for 230 miles through Middle England from Bledlow in Buckinghamshire to Stockport, Greater Manchester. Between Northampton and Market Harborough it follows the route of a disused railway line, passing through two tunnels. The Midshires Way starts from Pulpit Hill, near Little Kimble and runs to Stockport, a total length of 230 miles, with 46 miles in Northamptonshire.
