Bishop's Tawton

Bishops Tawton is a village and civil parish in the North Devon district of Devon, England. It is in the valley of the River Taw, about three miles south of Barnstaple. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 1,176. The church spire is 14th century. Within the church, the baptismal font is Norman. The farmhouse by the church was formerly a residence of the Bishops of Exeter until the Tudor period.

East Devon College

East Devon College (sometimes shortened to EDC) was a further education college situated in Tiverton, Devon, England. The college operated on four sites; the main campus being located in Tiverton, with three additional sites being located in Honiton, Exmouth and Tiverton. In 2005 the college enrolled 3,144 learners, of which 877 were full-time. Around 80% of those learners were aged between sixteen and eighteen years of age.

Barnstaple Town railway station

Barnstaple Town railway station was an intermediate station on the L&SWR line to Ilfracombe, England. The station replaced Barnstaple Quay – opened in 1854, and renamed Barnstaple Town in 1886 – which had been located on the Junction side of the Commercial Road crossing, a short distance up-line. The total cost of rebuilding the station in its present location was about £6000, of which £2000 was contributed by the L&B.

North Devon

North Devon is the northern part of the English county of Devon. It is also the name of a local government district in Devon. Its council is based in Barnstaple. Other towns and villages in the North Devon District include Braunton, Fremington, Ilfracombe, Instow, South Molton, Lynton and Lynmouth. The district was formed on 1 April 1974 as a merger of the Barnstaple municipal borough, the Ilfracombe and Lynton urban districts, and Barnstaple Rural District and South Molton Rural District.
