Bicton, Shrewsbury

Bicton is a village and civil parish in Shropshire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 890. The village is about three miles north-west of Shrewsbury town centre and includes part of Montford Bridge. The south-east part of the parish is increasingly becoming suburbanised, as part of the growing town of Shrewsbury. The parish includes the small, primary Bicton school.

Montford Bridge

Montford Bridge is a village in Shropshire, England, and also the name of the bridge in that village. It lies on the River Severn and is close to the town of Shrewsbury. Most of the village is in the Montford parish, but some is covered by the Bicton parish. The A5 road used to run through the village (over the Montford Bridge), but has been diverted via the Shrewsbury by-pass. There are still some services, such as a shop (closed as of 2011) and a pub, in the village.

Fitz, Shropshire

Fitz is a small village in Shropshire, England. The village is situated close to the River Severn, downstream from Montford Bridge and upstream of Shelton, near Shrewsbury. It lies in the parish of Pimhill. There is a red brick church - "St Peter and St Paul" - which was built in 1722 and restored in 1915 by Sir Aston Webb.

Shelton, Shropshire

Shelton is a suburb of Shrewsbury in Shropshire, England, described by the Pevsner Architectural Guides as "Shrewsbury's principal interwar suburb. " It was once a village of its own, but the town of Shrewsbury has grown steadily in the area since the 1950s. It has a cricket team which played in the Shropshire Premier Cricket League until the league was wound up after the 2011 season.
