Plealey is a small village in Shropshire, England. It is located between Pontesford and Longden. The village lies in the parish of Pontesbury and has a population of 122 (2001 Census). There is a post box and a Methodist Chapel. On the last Saturday of August a street market is held, an unusual event for such a small village.

Pontesford

Pontesford is a small village in Shropshire, England. It is located on the A488 outside the large village of Pontesbury. It approximates to the northern extremity of the Pontesford-Linley geological fault, which trends approximately 11 miles to Linley near Bishops Castle. On 2 April 1990, the Pontesford-Linley Fault - registered an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter scale, known as the Bishop's Castle earthquake.

Longden

Longden is a village and civil parish in Shropshire, England. It is located 5 miles southwest of Shrewsbury. There is a public house (the Tankerville Arms) and a post office/shop, along with a church, and a primary school. It also has a village hall with a recreational field, children's play park and a private tennis club. According to mid-2007 population estimates, the parish had a population of 1,325. Longden Common lies to the south of the village.

Pontesbury

Pontesbury is a large village and civil parish in Shropshire and is approximately eight miles southwest of the county town of Shrewsbury. The village of Minsterley is just over a mile further southwest. The A488 road runs through the village, on its way from Shrewsbury to Bishop's Castle. The Rea Brook flows close by to the north with the village itself nestling on the northern edge of the Shropshire Hills AONB.

Minsterley branch line

|} The Minsterley branch was a short railway line that ran from Cruckmeole Junction on the Cambrian Line just south of Shrewsbury to Minsterley in Shropshire. The six-and-a-half mile standard gauge line was the only section built of a plan to connect Shrewsbury with mid Wales. It was part of a joint venture between the Great Western Railway and London and North Western Railway companies.
