Newport railway station serves the village of Newport in Essex, England. To the North of the Victorian station is the little known Audley End Viaduct. Elsenham & Thaxted Light Railway
The Elsenham & Thaxted Light Railway was a 5.5-mile long light railway in Essex, England. The line was sanctioned in 1906, although did not finally open to traffic until 1 April 1913. It was the last rail line built in Essex until the construction of Stansted Airport railway station. The railway left the West Anglia Main Line at Elsenham. There were two stations and three halts on the Railway; all except Mill Road Halt (opened in 1922) were opened with the line.

Wimbish
Wimbish is a village and civil parish within Uttlesford, in Essex, England. The first recorded mention of the village was in 1042, when it was referred to as Winebisc. It was subsequently referred to as Wimbeis in the Domesday Book. The village has its own non-denominational primary school (Wimbish County Primary School) and a church (All Saints). The church tower was partly destroyed by lightning in 1756, and was rebuilt in brick but was later taken down again in 1883.

Saffron Walden Rural District
Saffron Walden Rural District was a rural district in the county of Essex, England. It was created in 1894 and later enlarged by the addition of the parishes of Berden, Birchanger, Elsenham, Farnham, Henham-on-the-Hill, Manuden, Stansted Mountfitchet and Ugley from the disbanded Stansted Rural District. It was named after and administered from Saffron Walden. Since 1 April 1974 it has formed part of the District of Uttlesford.
