Branthwaite
Branthwaite is a hamlet in the borough of Allerdale. Branthwaite is approx. 5 miles from Workington and is 7 miles from Cockermouth, the small village has few amenities but is a sought after area. There is one pub, The Wild Duck. The River Marron runs through Branthwaite. There was once a Trout farm but its recently closed down. There’s also an old mill that was the main source for the village but again that has long closed down.

Blindbothel is a village and civil parish in the Allerdale district of Cumbria, England. It is on the edge of the Lake District National Park, and is a couple of miles south of Cockermouth. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 148. There are 63 households in total in Blindbothel. River Marron
For the article on the river in British Columbia of a similar name, see Marron River. The River Marron is a river of Cumbria, England. Rising near the village of Asby, Copeland at the confluence of Colliergate Beck and Scallow Beck, the Marron travels north past Ullock and Branthwaite, picking up the waters of Lostrigg Beck at Little Clifton/Bridgefoot not long before joining the River Derwent.
