Pendle Hippodrome Theatre

The Pendle Hippodrome Theatre is an amateur-run theatre in Colne, Lancashire in the north of England. It is owned by the Pendle Hippodrome Theatre Company, operating as Pendle Hippodrome Theatre Limited. The building originally opened in 1914 as a cinema and variety theatre. The Pendle Hippodrome Theatre was bought in 1978 by three local operatic societies and restored over the following eight years.

Cottontree and Winewall

Cottontree and Winewall are two hamlets situated in the civil parish of Trawden Forest in Pendle, Lancashire. They are adjacent to one other located between the town of Colne and the village of Trawden. Cottontree is generally situated in the valley along the road that connects Colne and Trawden. Winewall is generally on the hillside overlooking Cottontree. The road that runs between Cottontree and Winewall connects to Laneshaw Bridge, Wycoller and is an alternative route to Trawden.

A58 road

The A58 is a major road in northern England that runs between Prescot, Merseyside and Wetherby, West Yorkshire. It runs north east from Prescot on the outskirts of Liverpool via St Helens, Ashton-in-Makerfield, Hindley, Westhoughton, Bolton, Bury, Heywood, Rochdale and Littleborough then over the Pennines into West Yorkshire. The road then goes through Ripponden, Sowerby Bridge to Halifax and onwards to Leeds via the villages of Hipperholme, Birkenshaw and Drighlington.

Castercliff

Castercliff is an Iron Age hillfort situated close to the towns of Nelson and Colne in Lancashire, Northern England. The site consists of three ramparts enclosing an oval interior. Excavations during the 1970s appear to show that the site was not completed, and no evidence of occupation was unearthed. The site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

River Laneshaw

The River Laneshaw is a river in Northern England. Rising as Laneshaw Brook on the border between the counties of Lancashire and Yorkshire from the collection of several streams draining both sides of the boundary, including Round Beck, the brook runs northwards, feeding the Laneshaw Reservoir, emerging running towards the rest as the River Laneshaw. The River Laneshaw combines with Wycoller Beck at Covey Bridge to form Colne Water.
