Horncastle Rural District

Horncastle was a rural district in Parts of Lindsey, Lincolnshire, England, from 1894 to 1974. It was formed under the Local Government Act 1894 from the Horncastle Rural Sanitary District. It entirely surrounded the town of Horncastle, which was an urban district, and also surrounded Woodhall Spa on three sides. The rural district was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972 and merged with other districts to form the district of East Lindsey.

Woodhall Spa Golf Club is a private golf club in England, that is located to the north of Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire. The club was founded in 1891. In 1995 the club was purchased by the English Golf Union, who have since relocated their headquarters onto the site, which is now known as the National Golf Centre.

Tupholme Abbey

Tupholme Abbey was a Premonstratensian abbey close to the River Witham some 17 km east of the city of Lincoln, England. It was founded between 1155 and 1165 by Gilbert and Alan de Neville. An abbot and twelve canons were sent from Newsham Abbey, also in Lincolnshire, to found Tupholme.

The Kinema in the Woods

The Kinema in the Woods is a cinema in the village of Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, England. It dates from 1922, and it is the only fully functioning cinema in the UK to employ back projection. The building that houses the Kinema was originally a farm building, and after that, a concert pavilion. In 1906, it became the cricket pavilion for Petwood House (later the Petwood Hotel) and was converted in 1922 by Captain (later Major) C. C. Allport into the Pavilion Cinema.

Minting Priory

Minting Priory was a priory in Minting, Lincolnshire, England. The priory for Benedictine monks was founded by Ranulf de Meschines, earl of Chester, to the abbey of Fleury. The grant was made before 1129, but it is uncertain when the priory was actually built as the earliest mention of a prior is in 1213. The priory was in the hands of the King in 1337, 1344, and 1346 on account of the wars with France, and in 1421 it was granted to the Carthusian priory of Mount Grace.
