Beaumont, Cumbria
Beaumont (pronounced locally as bee-mont) is a village and civil parish in the City of Carlisle district of Cumbria, England. The village lies four miles north-west of Carlisle on the banks of the River Eden. Beaumont's name, as suggested by the French translation 'beautiful mount', comes from its high setting. The civil parish of Beaumont includes the surrounding villages of Kirkandrews-on-Eden, Grinsdale and Monkhill. The Carlisle canal ran through the parish, admitting sixty tonne vessels.

The parish includes the village of Burgh by Sands along with Longburgh, Dykesfield, Boustead Hill, Moorhouse and Thurstonfield. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 1,143. The village is about seven miles (11 km) west of Carlisle city centre. The village has a primary school, a pub, a motor garage and a post office.

Carlisle Kingmoor TMD
Carlisle Kingmoor TMD is a railway Traction Maintenance Depot situated in Carlisle, England. The depot is operated by the Direct Rail Services (DRS). The depot was originally used to service Diesel Locomotives and Diesel Multiple Units. The current depot code is KM. The original steam shed was called Carlisle (Kingmoor) and its shed code was 12A. The current depot is located on the opposite side of the West Coast Main Line to the original steam shed and was officially opened on 1 January 1968.

RAF Carlisle
RAF Carlisle (previously RAF Kingstown) was a Royal Air Force establishment, now closed after being used for a variety of roles over a period of fifty eight years and formerly located 2 mi north of Carlisle city centre in Cumbria, England. The station was latterly the home of No. 14 Maintenance Unit and occupied the various sites originally used by RAF Kingstown's Elementary Flying Training School during World War II.
