Buckabank

Buckabank is a small village in the English county of Cumbria. It is situated on the B5299 road about 5 miles south-south-west of Carlisle, and approximately a mile from Dalston village centre. Orton Moss

Orton Moss is a Site of Special Scientific Interest located west of the City of Carlisle in northwest England. Orton Moss is a former raised mire and divided into strips and fields which would traditionally have been used for peat cutting and grazing. Formerly noted for its butterflies, it was once the homes of the Wood White, (Leptidea sinapis), the Large Heath, (Coenonympha tullia) and the Marsh Fritillary (Euphydryas aurinia).

A689 road

The A689 is a road in northern England that runs east from the A595, 3.1 miles to the West of Carlisle in Cumbria, to Hartlepool in the North East. The road begins west of Carlisle, just outside the city at the A595. The initial 5.13 miles stretch is newly-opened as part of the Carlisle Northern Development Route, a road bypassing Carlisle from west to north. Crossing the River Eden and the West Coast Main Line, the road intersects with Junction 44 of the M6 at Greymoorhill.

Aikton

Aikton is a small village in the north of the English county of Cumbria. There is a pub, phonebox and postbox; but no shops. The local church, St Andrew's, is over 900 years old, and is one of the oldest in the region. Pevsner says that it has a "solid C12 w[est est] front" and details Norman and Early English Period work on the church. " Many houses in Aikton have views of the Lake District. The surrounding area is almost entirely farmland, containing cows usually.
