Tregurnow

Tregurnow is a settlement in St Buryan civil parish on the Penwith peninsula in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. At Tregurnow farm is an interesting Celtic cross from the medieval period similar to ones found on the Isle of Man. Tregurnow also gives its name to the site of a stone circle that previously stood in the area at grid reference SW 43818 24523 and the cliffs above Lamorna Cove also bear the same name.

Penlee lifeboat disaster

The Penlee lifeboat disaster occurred on 19 December 1981 off the coast of Cornwall, in England, UK. The Penlee Lifeboat went to the aid of the coaster Union Star after its engines failed in heavy seas. After the lifeboat had managed to rescue four people both vessels were lost with all hands; in all, sixteen people died including eight volunteer lifeboatmen.

Kerris

Kerris is a settlement in west Cornwall, England, United Kingdom at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:50.0894|-5.5757|region:GB-CON_type:city|||||| | |name= }}. It is three miles (5 km) southwest of Penzance in the civil parish of Paul. Kerris means "fort-place" in the Cornish language. Kerris has been a settlement for about two thousand years. Its oldest building, a former manor house, dates back to medieval times and there are two working farms in the settlement.
