Brinkburn Mill

Brinkburn Mill is a water mill located near Rothbury, in Northumberland. It once formed part of the precincts of Brinkburn Priory and was constructed in around 1800 on the site of a former medieval mill. After the dissolution of the monasteries, the Priory, and its Mill, were owned by Fenwicks of Northumberland until 1792, when the priory was sold to Joseph Hetherington.

Eshott Airfield

Eshott Airfield is an former RAF wartime airfield in Northumberland, England, 20 miles north of Newcastle, and midway between Morpeth and Alnwick. It is also known as Bockenfield Aerodrome. Eshott Airfield is home to two flying schools, Purple Aviation and Northumbria Microlights. Purple Aviation operates two Evektor Eurostar EV-97 aircraft powered by a Rotax 912 engine along with one flexi-wing, the Pegasus Quik GT450. And talks have commenced upon the purchase of another aircraft.

Embleton Hall

Embleton Hall was a country manor house and is a now a hotel in Longframlington, Northumberland, England. Built in 1730 by Thomas Embleton, it was later bought by the Fenwick family in 1780. It was extended in 1893. The Hall was the seat of the land-owning Fenwick Family.

A697 road

The A697 is a road that can be used an alternative to the A1 for those travelling between Scotland and England via the North East. It connects Morpeth on the A1 to the A68 at Oxton, near Edinburgh. The road runs via Wooler and Coldstream, and passes through a largely rural area of the Scottish Borders. It is around 15 miles shorter and an average time of 23 minutes quicker than travelling up the A1, according to figures from the RAC route planner.
