Northampton Rural District

Northampton was a rural district in Northamptonshire, England from 1894 to 1974. It was created under the Local Government Act 1972 based on the Northampton rural sanitary district. In 1932, under a County Review order, it took in the disbanded Hardingstone Rural District and two parishes from Pottersbury Rural District. The district was abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972.

Salcey Forest

Salcey Forest is a former medieval hunting forest in the south of the county of Northamptonshire in England. It lies to the east of the village of Hartwell, between Northampton and Newport Pagnell. It is managed by the Forestry Commission and is still commercially exploited for timber products. In 2005, a tree top forest walk was constructed which has attracted many visitors and rises through the forest to a height of about 15 metres (49 ft), at a gradient not exceeding 1 in 12.

Yardley Chase

Yardley Chase is a fairly large forest in Northamptonshire, which consists of two similar shaped forests, which are each about 2 miles long, and 1 mile wide, in places. The forests are about 3 miles south of Yardley Hastings in Northamptonshire, and about the same distance north of Olney in Buckinghamshire.

Salcey Green

Salcey Green is an area of farm and wood land within the parish of Hanslope in the Borough of Milton Keynes, England. In 1830 it was the scene of an infamous bare-knuckle fight between boxers Simon Byrne and Alexander McKay that resulted in McKay's death.
