Higher Hurdsfield

Higher Hurdsfield is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It has a population of around 300, and is situated on the eastern outskirts of Macclesfield around 7 miles from the border of Derbyshire and Cheshire. The nearest village is Rainow.

Kerridge

Kerridge is a village in Cheshire, England, part of the parish of Bollington. Kerridge borders the neighbouring parish of Rainow. It gives its name to Kerridge Ridge – one of the western foothills of the Pennines – by which it stands. It is overlooked by the local landmark of White Nancy. The local industries were quarrying and cotton mills, of which remnants remain. On 29 February 1912, the Macclesfield Canal at Kerridge burst its banks, flooding several nearby streets.

Lamaload Reservoir

Lamaload Reservoir is a reservoir near Rainow, Cheshire, England. It lies in the South West Peak within the Peak District National Park, to the west of the Goyt Valley, and is fed by the River Dean. It serves Macclesfield, which lies to its west. The reservoir and associated water treatment works are owned by United Utilities. Built between 1958 and 1964 by Costain Construction Company, Lamaload was the first concrete reservoir in England.

St Christopher's Church, Pott Shrigley

St Christopher's Church, Pott Shrigley is in the small village of Pott Shrigley, Cheshire, England. The church is designated by English Heritage as a Grade I listed building. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Macclesfield and the deanery of Macclesfield.

Jenkin Chapel

Jenkin Chapel, Saltersford stands in an isolated position on the eastern slopes of the Pennines 4.3 miles northeast of Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. It is designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building. The chapel lies at the junction of three ancient trackways, known as "salters' ways" because they were used by packhorses carrying salt. Later the tracks were used by cattle drovers and sheep dealers.
