The two major settlements in the parish are the ancient town of Grampound and the smaller village of Creed. The larger settlement, Grampound, is situated approximately six miles (10 km) west of St Austell at grid reference SW 935 483 and Creed is one mile (1.6 km) south at SW 934 472.

Grampound

Grampound is a village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is on the A390 road six miles (10 km) west of St Austell. Grampound with Creed is the civil parish of which the village of Grampound and the village of Creed are the main settlements. Formerly, part of Grampound was in the parish of Creed and part was in the parish of Probus. The name Grampound comes from Norman French: grand (great), pont (bridge), referring to the bridge over the River Fal.
