Siddington, Cheshire

Siddington is a civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It consists of farms; a picnic site; Redesmere, a half-mile long lake; and the Capesthorne Estate. The village is located at the crossroads of the A34 with the B5392 approximately half-way between Alderley Edge and Congleton. Redesmere, created as a feeder reservoir for the ornamental lakes of Capesthorne Hall in the late 18th century, once had an island.

Marton, Cheshire

Marton, Cheshire is a small village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England on the A34 road 3 miles (5 km) north of Congleton. Its outstanding feature is the 16th century timber–framed church of St James and St Paul, founded in 1563. A plaque outside the church claims it is the oldest timber-framed church still in use in Europe Marton is also home to the oldest oak in Cheshire which has been estimated at over 600 years old.
