Therfield Heath
Therfield Heath is a public open space and nature reserve on the chalk escarpment just north of Therfield, Hertfordshire; since it lies south-west of the town of Royston it is also known locally as Royston Heath. It has a testing racetrack for horses on its slopes and is a popular spot with dog walkers and birdwatchers. The Heath is a common on which sheep are still regularly grazed. The site offers very good views towards the north, over the valley of the Cam as far as Cambridge.

Boycott, Buckinghamshire
Boycott is a hamlet in the parish of Stowe in north Buckinghamshire, England. Boycott was originally an Anglo Saxon settlement. Its name came from Anglo-Saxon Boiacot = either "Boia's Cottage" or "the cottage of the boys or servants". The Marquis of Buckingham annexed Boycott hamlet to the parish of Stowe in the late 18th century to provide living accommodation for his staff and servants. Until the Counties (Detached Parts) Act 1844 Boycott was part of Oxfordshire.

Buckland is a village and is part of Buckland and Chipping civil parish in the East Hertfordshire district of Hertfordshire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 285. The village is about 4½ miles south of Royston on the A10 road.

Roisia's Cross
Roisia's Cross is a cross in Royston, Hertfordshire, at the crossroads of Ermine Street and the Icknield Way (cum Ashwell Street). Most likely it was in the southeast angle of the crossroads in the parish of Barkway. This was in the fee of the Lordship of Newsells. The first recorded owner was Eudo Dapifer, steward to William the Conqueror. Whether there was some monument predating this remains a matter for speculation. However, the footstone still exists.
