Fowlmere RSPB reserve

Fowlmere is an RSPB nature reserve in Cambridgeshire, England. It is situated 11 km south of Cambridge between Fowlmere village and Melbourn. Fowlmere's reedbeds and pools are fed by natural chalk springs and a chalk stream runs through the reserve. It has three hides, one of which is wheelchair-accessible. Special birds include kingfishers, water rails, sedge warblers, reed warblers and grasshopper warblers plus a roost of corn buntings in winter.

South Cambridgeshire Rural District

South Cambridgeshire was a rural district in Cambridgeshire, England from 1934 to 1974. It was formed in 1934 under a County Review Order. It was formed by merger of Linton Rural District and Melbourn Rural District and part of Caxton and Arrington Rural District. In 1965 it became part of the new administrative county of Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Ely.

Royston Cave

Royston cave is a small artificial cave in Royston in Hertfordshire, England. It is located beneath the crossroads formed by Ermine Street and the Icknield Way. It has recently been speculated that it was used by the Knights Templar, who founded nearby Baldock, but this is unlikely, despite its enormous popular appeal.

Cambridge Line

The Cambridge Line runs from Cambridge junction on the East Coast Main Line to Shepreth Branch junction on the West Anglia Main Line and forms part of the route between London King's Cross and East Anglia. The line is part of the Network Rail Strategic Route 5, SRS 05.05 and is classified as a London and South East Commuter line.

Roisia's Cross

Roisia's Cross is a cross in Royston, Hertfordshire, at the crossroads of Ermine Street and the Icknield Way (cum Ashwell Street). Most likely it was in the southeast angle of the crossroads in the parish of Barkway. This was in the fee of the Lordship of Newsells. The first recorded owner was Eudo Dapifer, steward to William the Conqueror. Whether there was some monument predating this remains a matter for speculation. However, the footstone still exists.
