Elton Hall

Elton Hall is a baronial hall in Elton, Cambridgeshire. It has been the ancestral home of the Proby family since 1660. The hall lies in an 3,800-acre estate through which the River Nene runs. The building incorporates 15th, 17th, 18th and 19th century parts. Elton Hall is two miles (3 km) from Fotheringhay Castle, where Mary, Queen of Scots was executed in 1587.

Oundle and Thrapston Rural District

Oundle and Thrapston was a rural district in Northamptonshire, England from 1935 to 1974. It was formed in 1935 under the County Review Order as a merger of the Easton on the Hill Rural District, the Gretton Rural District, and the parts of the Oundle Rural District and the Thrapston Rural District which were in Northamptonshire. It was abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972 and now forms part of the East Northamptonshire district.

RAF Polebrook

Royal Air Force Station Polebrook or more simply RAF Polebrook is a former Royal Air Force station located 3.5 miles east-south-east of Oundle, at Polebrook, Northamptonshire, England. The airfield was built on Rothschild estate land starting in August 1940. It was from Polebrook that the United States Army Air Forces Eighth Air Force carried out its first heavy bomb group combat mission on 17 August 1942, and from which Major Clark Gable flew combat missions in 1943.

Peterborough transmitting station

The Peterborough transmitting station is a broadcasting and telecommunications facility at Morborne Hill, near Peterborough, Cambridgeshire,. There are two tall structures on adjacent sites: a guyed steel lattice mast belonging to Arqiva, and a reinforced concrete tower belonging to BT. These sites are known by their owners as 'Peterborough' and 'Morborne Hill' respectively.
