Redcar Jazz Club
Redcar Jazz Club was a music venue in the seaside town of Redcar, North Yorkshire, England which was a regular stop for up and coming rock musicians during the 1960s and early 1970s. Almost all the famous, or soon to be famous names, played there for the local audience. Bands such as Cream, Yes, Curved Air and Pink Floyd all occupied the stage in the ballroom of the Coatham Hotel a Victorian edifice in the grand style.

Zetland (lifeboat)
The Zetland is the oldest surviving lifeboat in the world. It is currently in a free museum in Redcar. The name Zetland comes from the local Lord of Manor, the Marquess of Zetland. The Zetland is on the National Register of Historic Ships. The lifeboat was stationed at Redcar in 1802, built by Henry Greathead of South Shields. Not all rescue attempts were successful.
