Alloway Kirk
The old Alloway Kirk is a ruin in Alloway, South Ayrshire, Scotland, celebrated as the scene of the witches' dance in the poem Tam o' Shanter by Robert Burns. There is a still a Church of Scotland parish church in Alloway; the minister (since 1999) is the Reverend Neil A. McNaught. The new church building was opened for worship on 10 October 1858 and the first minister was called in 1859. As originally built, the new church was rectangular.

River Doon
The River Doon is a river in East Ayrshire and South Ayrshire, Scotland. The river flows 23 miles from Loch Doon, joining the Firth of Clyde just south of Ayr. Its course is generally north-westerly, passing near to the town of Dalmellington, and through the villages of Patna, Dalrymple, and Alloway, birthplace of Robert Burns. The source of the Doon is Loch Enoch, high in the Galloway Hills.

Doonfoot
Doonfoot is a part of the town of Ayr in south-west Scotland. In 2008 there were many new houses built in Doonfoot, expanding the population substantially. Doonfoot contains a primary school, a play park, and a local convenience shop. There are also plans for a new retirement home and community centre to be built along the Dunure Road sometime in the near future. Belleisle Park, one of the largest parks in Ayr, borders Doonfoot.

Belmont Academy
Belmont Academy is the largest secondary school in Ayr and the 6th largest in Scotland. The Academy is inter-faith and state-run by South Ayrshire Council. In 2008 the school transferred from the 48-year-old campus into a new building, which was opened to pupils in August 2008.
