Kyle and Carrick (A' Chùil agus a' Charraig in Scottish Gaelic) was one of nineteen local government districts in the Strathclyde region of Scotland from 1975 to 1996. Alloway Kirk

The old Alloway Kirk is a ruin in Alloway, South Ayrshire, Scotland, celebrated as the scene of the witches' dance in the poem Tam o' Shanter by Robert Burns. There is a still a Church of Scotland parish church in Alloway; the minister (since 1999) is the Reverend Neil A. McNaught. The new church building was opened for worship on 10 October 1858 and the first minister was called in 1859. As originally built, the new church was rectangular.

Queen Margaret Academy

Queen Margaret Academy (Scottish Gaelic: banrigh Maighread àrd-sgoil) is a Roman Catholic secondary school in the south of Ayr in southwest Scotland. Queen Margaret is state-run by South Ayrshire Council and takes children aged 11 to 18 from the whole of South Ayrshire and parts of East Ayrshire. The original St Margaret's school was founded in 1856 in the building which is now St Margaret's Church Hall in Elba Street, Ayr.

Belmont Academy

Belmont Academy is the largest secondary school in Ayr and the 6th largest in Scotland. The Academy is inter-faith and state-run by South Ayrshire Council. In 2008 the school transferred from the 48-year-old campus into a new building, which was opened to pupils in August 2008.
