Teaninich Castle

Teaninich Castle is situated north of the village of Evanton and just south of the village of Alness in Ross and Cromarty, Scotland. It is not known exactly how long a castle has been on the site of Teaninich Castle but it is thought to date back to at least the 16th century. In the 16th century, the lands in which Teaninich Castle is situated was an area known as Fyrish.

Dalmore distillery

The Dalmore is a distillery in Alness, Scotland, located about 20 mi north of Inverness. The waters of the River Alness (River Averon), which runs through the village, are used to produce its whiskies. The distillery is best known for producing a single malt scotch whisky of the same name. Its location and flavour qualify it as a "Highland malt". The Dalmore distillery is owned and operated by Whyte and Mackay Ltd, which is owned by United Breweries Group, a large Indian conglomerate.

Contullich Castle

Contullich Castle was a castle located a few miles north-west of the town of Alness, on the eastern side of the county of Ross-shire, Scotland. The castle is believed to date back until at least the 11th century. In 1379 Euphemia I, Countess of Ross confirmed the lands of Contullich and the fort which was then called the Tower of Ardoch to her cousin Hugh Munro, 9th Baron of Foulis. The Munros lands in eastern Ross-shire were known as "Estirfowlys" and "Wesstir Fowlys".

Clach a' Mheirlich

The Clach a' Mheirlich (literally, the "Thief's stone") or Rosskeen Stone is a standing stone in a field near Rosskeen, Easter Ross, Scotland. The stone itself is Bronze Age in origin, but has on it three incised Pictish-style symbols barely visible on the surface of the stone, making it a Class I Pictish symbol stone.
