Avoch railway station

Avoch railway station was a station on the single track branch of the Highland Railway, in north east Scotland. The line connected villages in The Black Isle peninsula to the railway network via a junction at Muir of Ord.

Culbokie

Culbokie (An Cùil Bhàicidh in Gaelic) is a small village in Ross and Cromarty, Highland, Scotland, located on the north side of the Black Isle. The village is 3.5 miles north-east of Dingwall and about 12 miles north of Inverness. There is one school, a shop/post office, a public house (the Culbokie Inn) and Findon Hall. According to the census of 2001, the population was 866.

Beauly Firth

The Beauly Firth is a firth in northern Scotland. It is effectively a continuation of the Moray Firth westward, and is bounded at one end by Beauly and at the other by Inverness. The Kessock Ferry has crossed at the eastern end since the 15th Century. Today, the A9 crosses on the Kessock Bridge. The Beauly Firth has several names in Scottish Gaelic including Linne Fharair, Poll an Ròid and Caolas Uisge a' Mhanachainn - the latter being a more literal version of the English.
