Auchenbreck Castle
Auchenbreck Castle (or Auchinbreck) is located in Argyll, Scotland. Its remains are situated in Kilmodan parish, near the mouth of Glendaruel, 9 kilometres north of Tighnabruaich on the Cowal peninsula. Little remains of the castle, other than a flat rectangular platform, around 35 by 18 metres (by ft), between Auchenbreck farmhouse and the Auchenbreck Burn. This is partially bounded by a revetment wall up to 2.2 metres high.

Kilmodan Church
Built in 1783 Kilmodan Church (or Kilmodan Kirk), in the Clachan of Glendaruel in the Kilmodan parish, is constructed to a Georgian T-plan design. A category B listed building, the walls are inset with shields from the previous church on the site and one is inscribed and dated 'SDC/1610. ' There is also a memorial to Rev John Maclaurin (Minister there from 1689-1699) and his notable sons (one of whom was Colin_Maclaurin). It has a rendered front and both the ends and rear are harled.

Eilean Dearg, Loch Ruel
Eilean Dearg is a small island in Loch Ruel (or Loch Riddon) in Argyll, Scotland. The island was once home to a castle, which was destroyed by naval action in Argyll's Rising in 1685. No visible remains of the castle are to be found, but archaeologists excavated the site between 1964 and 1967, finding the castle's hall, chapel, a tower and the foundations of the wall, along with a gate.
