Glasgow East is a constituency of the British House of Commons, located in the city of Glasgow, Scotland. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) at least once every five years using the First-past-the-post system of voting. One of the most safe seats for the Labour Party, it has voted Labour since the 1930s. It achieved national prominence in 2008, when a by-election saw the Scottish National Party overturn a majority of over 13,000 votes to take the seat.

Real Radio Scotland

Real Radio Scotland is an Independent Local Radio station in Central and Southern Scotland. The station broadcasts from studios at Ballieston in the east end of the Glasgow on 100.3 & 101.1FM and on DAB. Global Radio acquired GMG Radio on 25 June 2012 with Real Radio now operated in a "hold separate" situation known as Real and Smooth Ltd.

A74 road

The A74 was a major trunk road in the United Kingdom, linking Glasgow in Scotland to Carlisle in the North West of England. It had been a vitally important link between Scotland and England for centuries, particularly since Thomas Telford's work in the 19th century, and consequently was continually upgraded and ultimately replaced by the A74(M) and M74 motorways. The final section, entirely in England, was replaced in 2008.
