Cairndow
Cairndow (Scottish Gaelic: An Càrn Dubh) is a coastal hamlet in southwest Scotland. Cairndow lies between the A83 road and the head of Loch Fyne. Administratively it forms part of the Argyll and Bute council area. Cairndow's school closed in 1988 after the roll fell to just 3 pupils. Now children in the area are sent to the primary school in Strachur and the secondary school in Dunoon. Medical facilities for the hamlet are provided by the GP in Strachur.

Ardkinglas Railway
The Ardkinglas Railway was a narrow gauge estate railway built to serve the Ardkinglas Estate, former seat of Sir James Campbell, 2nd Baronet, of Ardkinglass on the shores of Loch Fyne. The railway ran along the shore of the loch from a boat house at Caspian. The railway was built as a transportation system for the estate and as a garden toy for the estate's 17th Laird George Livingston-Campbell-Callander.

The Battle of Loup Hill was a battle fought on the steep slopes of Loup Hill (Scottish Gaelic: Cruach na Luib), near Clachan, Kintyre, Argyll and Bute, Scotland on 16 May 1689 between Jacobite forces commanded by Donald MacNeill of Gallchoille and government forces commanded by Captain William Young. The battle was part of the Kintyre Rising in 1689 as part of the Jacobite rising.

Beinn an Lochain
Beinn an Lochain is a mountain in the Arrochar Alps, southern Scotland, on the western edge of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Although included in Sir Hugh Munro's original list of Scottish mountains over 3000 feet, subsequent surveys showed it to be significantly shorter than the 914.4 m cut-off limit required to count as a Munro.
