Fearn Abbey

Fearn Abbey – known as "The Lamp of the North" – has its origins in one of Scotland's oldest pre-Reformation church buildings. Part of the Church of Scotland and located to the southeast of Tain, Ross-shire, it continues as an active parish church (united with Nigg and linked with Tarbat). The original Fearn Abbey was established in either 1221 or 1227 by Premonstratensian canons from Whithorn Priory.

RAF Tain is a Ministry of Defence air weapons range on the Moray Firth near Tain in Scotland. Royal Air Force aircrews from RAF Lossiemouth and RAF Leuchars are trained in air weaponry on the range, along with NATO aircrew.

Tain & District Museum

The Tain & District Museum, part of the larger Tain Through Time centre, is located in Tain, Ross-shire, Scotland, and opened in 1966, the 900th anniversary of Tain's charter. Rosemary Mackenzie, the museum's first curator, was particularly interested in the town's history and had for years been collecting items of local interest, especially after the re-organisation of local government in 1975 when much valuable material might have been re-located away from Tain.

Morrich More is an extensive area of dune grassland with wetland communities, on the southern shore of the Dornoch Firth, Scotland. Morrich More lies east of Tain, on the southern shore of the Dornoch Firth, Scotland. Offshore lie extensive areas of intertidal sandflat, including the tidal island of Innis Mhòr and the sand spit Paterson Island which provide shelter. The area includes the most extensive area (260 hectares) of salt marsh in the Highlands.
