McLaren High School

McLaren High School is a state comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school in central Scotland. It was founded in 1892 by Donald McLaren is situated in the town of Callander, and is part of Stirling Council. The current school building has been in place since 1965 and work on an upgrade started in 2006.

Garbh Uisge

Garbh Uisge is a short river of approximately 7 km in the Trossachs of Scotland just north-west Callander. It is the outflow of Loch Lubnaig and joins with Eas Gobhain west of Callander to form the River Teith. The river is often informally called the River Leny due to the Falls of Leny where the river crosses the Highland Fault and because it flows through the Pass of Leny. The name of the river, Garbh Uisge is Gaelic for "Rough Water" reflecting the nature of the river.

Bracklinn Falls

Bracklinn Falls is a waterfall of Scotland. In 2004, a steel bridge over the falls was washed away by floods. In October 2010 a new, 20-tonne wood-and-copper one, spanning 20m across a very deep gorge, was hauled into place by hand because its location made it impossible to use a crane. In July 2011 this new bridge was awarded at the International Footbridge Awards. It was seen in the British comedy film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Stirlingshire

Stirlingshire or the County of Stirling is a registration county of Scotland, based around Stirling, the former county town. It borders Perthshire to the north, Clackmannanshire and West Lothian to the east, Lanarkshire to the south, and Dunbartonshire to the south-west. Until 1975 it was a county. Until the 1890s the county had two small exclaves: part of the parish of Logie, which was surrounded by Perthshire, and the parish of Alva, locally in Clackmannanshire.
