Doune Hillclimb

Doune Hillclimb, Carse of Cambus, near Doune in the district of Stirling, Scotland, is the home of the only round of the British Hill Climb Championship to be held in Scotland, (other venues have featured in the past). The course is 1,476 yards (1,350 m) in length (although when it was first constructed in 1968 it was around 33yd / 30 m longer) and meetings are staged by the Lothian Car Club. The current outright record holder is Scott Moran, who set a time of 35.62 seconds on 21 June 2009.

Deanston

Deanston is a village in the district of Stirling, Scotland, on the south bank of the River Teith across from and outside the Burgh boundary of Doune, formerly of West Perthshire. It is a part of the parish of Kilmadock. Gas lighting was installed in 1913, the first such installation, outside of London in the UK.

Kilmadock

Kilmadock parish (Scottish Gaelic Cille Mo Dog), containing the settlements of Doune, Deanston, Buchany, Drumvaich, and Delvorich, is situated in Stirling council area, Scotland, and is on the southern border of the former county of Perthshire. Its length is 10 miles, its breadth from 2–8 miles (&#160), and with an area of 24,521 acres . The River Forth runs along its southern boundary, and the River Teith runs east-south-eastward through the centre.

Doune railway station

Doune was a railway station located in Doune, Stirling (district). The station was rebuilt in typical Caledonian Railway style in the early 1900s after the completion of the Callander and Oban Railway in 1880. It closed on 5 November 1965 and was demolished around 1968. The site was used by a timber merchant for many years. In the late 1990s a private housing estate was built on the station site.

Argaty

Argaty is a farm estate located just over a mile northeast of Doune, Stirling, Scotland. The present Argaty House dates from the 19th century with baronial additions in the 1860s and 1920s, but was largely destroyed by fire in April 2011. Argaty farm is host to central Scotland's only red kite feeding station where visitors can come and watch the birds, recently reintroduced to their former natural habitat through a program managed by the RSPB and Scottish Natural Heritage.
