Claonaig

Claonaig is a small village on the east coast of the Kintyre peninsula in western Scotland, linked to Lochranza on the Isle of Arran by ferry (summer only). From Claonaig, Tarbert is 10 miles away via the minor B8001 road and the A83. To the south, Campbeltown can be reached in 28 miles via the B842 coast road or via the B8001 and the A83 which runds down the west coast of Kintyre (36 miles).

Grogport

Grogport is a hamlet in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, United Kingdom. It lies on the coast of Scotland, near Kilbrannan Sound, across from the Isle of Arran. On one side of the coastal roadway that runs through Grogport there is a picnic spot on the beach, with spectacular views of Arran across the water. On the other side of the road lies the remnants of a Bronze Age Cist, a stone burial chamber. The Cist is known locally as "The Sailor's Grave" and is estimated to date to approximately 2000 BC.

HMS Vandal (P64)

HMS Vandal (P64) was a Royal Navy U-class submarine built by Vickers-Armstrong at Barrow-in-Furness, yard number 838. The submarine had the shortest career of any Royal Navy submarine, being lost with all 37 onboard just four days after commissioning.

Balinakill House

Balinakill House is a Victorian manor house to the east of the village of Clachan, Kintyre, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. The house was built by Sir William Mackinnon, 1st Baronet of Strathaird and Loup, founder of the British India Steam Navigation Company, who purchased the estates of Balinakill and Loup in 1867. The house was completed in 1893.

Catacol

Catacol is a small village on the Isle of Arran, Scotland. It is located on the north west side of the island, just a few miles along the coastal road from Lochranza at the foot of Glen Catacol, a steep-sided valley. It derives its name from Old Norse, referring to the 'gully of the cat'. Catacol's main feature is the row of cottages called the 'Twelve Apostles'.
