Maidenkirk (sometimes Kirkmaiden) is a small settlement in Galloway, Scotland Until Union with England, Scotland's equivalent of the phrase "Land's End to John o' Groats" was often "John o' Groats to Maidenkirk", as Maidenkirk was traditionally considered the southernmost part of that country. Cairngaan

Cairngaan, Kirkmaiden, Wigtownshire, Dumfries and Galloway, is the southmost settlement in Scotland. The hamlet of Cairngaan lies just north of the Mull of Galloway (which contains Scotland's most southerly point, and a lighthouse, but no villages) on the B7041, after a turn-off from the B7065 road.

Mull of Galloway

The Mull of Galloway is the southernmost point of Scotland. It is situated in Kirkmaiden, Wigtownshire, Dumfries and Galloway. A lighthouse is positioned at the point {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:54|38|06.30|N|04|51|22.81|W|type:landmark_region:GB | |name= }}. Built in 1830 by engineer Robert Stevenson, the white-painted round tower is 26 metres high. The light is 99 metres above sea level and has a range of 28 nautical miles .

Logan Botanic Garden

Logan Botanic Garden is a botanical garden located near Port Logan on the Rhins of Galloway, Wigtownshire the south-western tip of Scotland. The area has a mild climate, due to the influence of the North Atlantic drift. This enables plants which would not normally survive outdoors in Scotland to flourish. There are many beautiful plants which can be found in few other gardens in Britain.

Luce Bay

Luce Bay is a large bay in Wigtownshire in southern Scotland. The bay is 20 miles wide at its mouth and is bounded by the Rhins of Galloway to the west and the Machars to the east. From the 1930s to the 1990s it was a bombing range used for training purposes by RAF aircraft (and later allied aircraft on a leasing basis) based at West Freugh. Discharged bombs were retrieved by a retired minesweeper based at Drummore.
