Rùm

Rûm (pronounced ˈrüm orˈru̇m), also transliterated as Roum or Rhum is a generic term used at different times in Turkey and the Muslim world to refer to: ethnocultural minorities such as the various formerly Koine-Greek-speaking Christian diasporas and Greeks living in the Middle East and their descendants- notably members of the Greek Orthodox and Greek Catholic communities of Syria, Lebanon, Northern Israel and the Hatay Province in Southern Turkey whose liturgy is still based on Koine Greek and Ancient Synagogal priestly rites (called "Al-Rûm"); and, more generally, to non-Muslims of European descent inhabiting Ottoman or Turkish territories ("Rûmi" or "Rûm" in the broader sense, but that use is disappearing due to the quasi-extinction of Greek communities in Smyrna and Istanbul).

Sanday, Inner Hebrides

Sanday is one of the Small Isles, in the Scottish Inner Hebrides. It is a tidal island linked to its larger neighbour, Canna, via sandbanks at low tide, and also connected to the larger island by a bridge. Askival

Askival is the highest mountain on the island of Rùm, located 5 kilometres south of the town of Kinloch, Scotland. It is often climbed as part of a full traverse of the Rùm Cuillin, a rocky range of hills in the south east corner of Rùm, of which Askival is the highest.

Small Isles

The Small Isles are a small archipelago of islands in the Inner Hebrides, off the west coast of Scotland. They lie south of Skye and north of Mull and Ardnamurchan – the most westerly point of mainland Scotland. The four main islands are Canna, Rùm, Eigg and Muck. The largest is Rùm with an area of 105 square kilometres . The islands now form part of Lochaber, in the Highland council area.

Canna, Scotland

Canna (Scottish Gaelic: Canaigh; Eilean Chanaigh) is the westernmost of the Small Isles archipelago, in the Scottish Inner Hebrides. It is linked to the neighbouring island of Sanday by a road and sandbanks at low tide. The island is 7 kilometres long and 1.5 kilometres wide. The isolated skerries of Hyskeir and Humla lie 10 kilometres south west of the island.
