MacLellan's Castle
MacLellan's Castle, in Kirkcudbright, south west Scotland, was the noble residence of the MacLellan family. Kirkcudbright Castle
Kirkcudbright Castle, was a castle that was located on the banks of the River Dee, in Kirkcudbright, Scotland. A motte and bailey castle was built in the 12th century, however this was replaced with another castle in the 13th century to the south west. The castle belonged to the Comyn family but was placed in the care of King Edward I of England. Sir Walter de Corrie became the governor of the castle in 1291 and Richard Siward became the governor of the castle in 1292.

Tongland Abbey
Tungland or Tongland Abbey was a Premonstratensian monastic community located in Tongland, Kirkcudbrightshire, Galloway. It was probably founded circa 1218 by Alan, Lord of Galloway, although the church of Tongland had previously been granted to Holyrood Abbey by his grandfather Uchtred in the early 1160s. Few of its early abbots are known and its history is more generally covered by a cloud of obscurity.

Tongland
Tongland is a small village about 2 miles north of Kirkcudbright, in Kirkcudbrightshire, Dumfries and Galloway, south west Scotland. River Dee, Galloway
The River Dee (Scottish Gaelic: Dè / Uisge Dhè), in south-west Scotland, flows from its source in Loch Dee amongst the Galloway Hills, firstly to Clatteringshaws Loch, then in to Loch Ken, where it joins the Water of Ken. From there, the Dee flows 15 miles southwards to Kirkcudbright, and into Kirkcudbright Bay to reach the Solway. The distance is just over 38 miles in total. Together with its tributaries, the Dee's total catchment area is over 400 square miles .
