Pitsligo Castle
Pitsligo Castle is a ruined castle half a mile east of Rosehearty, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It originated as a 15th century keep on the south side There is an arched gateway in the west wall of the outer court, with the date 1656 and the arms of the Forbes and Erskines. In the inner court the date is shown as 1663. At the north-east angle of the courtyard there is a tall flanking drum-tower. The main tower had three vaulted stories, but almost all above the lowest has disappeared.

Rosehearty
Rosehearty, Rizarty in the local dialect, is located on the Moray Firth coast, four miles west of the town Fraserburgh, in the historical county of Aberdeenshire in Scotland. The burgh has a population of approximately 1,300 with about 25 per cent of pensionable age. There is one shop, a butcher, a hairdresser and three hotels in the village. The settlement which is now Rosehearty was founded by a group of shipwrecked Danes in the 14th century.

Dundarg Castle
Dundarg Castle is a ruined castle about 2 kilometres north-northeast of New Aberdour, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It was one of the The Nine Castles of Knuckle. It was built in the thirteenth century by the Comyn family, and subsequently dismantled, probably by Robert the Bruce, in 1308. It was rebuilt in 1334, but destroyed almost immediately, after a famous siege. Evidence of this double destruction was confirmed by excavations during 1911-12 and in 1950-51 when many medieval objects were found.

New Aberdour
A small 19th century planned village, New Aberdour lies just south of the Moray Firth Coast, 7 miles west of Fraserburgh. One of the earliest churches in Scotland, is said to have been founded here in 580 AD by Saint Drostan and Saint Columba.
