Faslane Peace Camp

Faslane Peace Camp is a permanent peace camp sited alongside Faslane Naval base in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It has been occupied continuously, in a few different locations, since 12 June 1982. In 1984 the book Faslane:Diary of a Peace Camp was published, co-written by the members of the peacecamp at the time.

Rahane

For cricketer, see Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane is a place in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It lies on the west bank of the Gare Loch as part of the Rosneath peninsula, 2.3 miles south of the larger settlement of Garelochhead, and 11 miles by road from the town of Helensburgh which is due south-east. The area contains much Forestry Commission managed stock.

Rhu

Rhu is a village and historic parish on the east shore of the Gare Loch in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. The traditional spelling of its name was Row, but it was changed in the 1920s so that outsiders would pronounce it correctly. The name derives from the Scots Gaelic rudha meaning 'point'. It lies north-west of the town of Helensburgh on the Firth of Clyde, in the historic county of Dunbartonshire.

Faslane (bay)

Faslane on Gare Loch is the name of a bay near the village of Garelochhead, and is now the main part of HM Naval Base Clyde in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, as well as being a Defence Logistics Organisation port, operated in dual site organisation with Great Harbour, Greenock, by Serco Denholm. Faslane is currently home to United Kingdom's Trident SSBN submarines There is also Faslane Peace Camp outside the base, protesting since 1982 against the nuclear missiles and submarines there.
