Seamill

Seamill is a village in North Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland, about 5 miles north of Ardrossan and 8 miles south of Largs. It is sometimes considered part of West Kilbride, and sometimes considered as a village in its own right.

Law Castle

Law Castle is situated on the lower slopes of Law Hill in West Kilbride, only a short walk (about 200m) from the railway station. The castle is a simple rectangular structure with a sloped roof and several large chimneys protruding at each side. It was built in the 15th century for King James III's sister Mary. In the late 1980s it was restored and fully renovated by the Phillips family - co-ordinated by Dr Anthony Philip Phillip Phillips.

Portencross

Portencross (Scottish Gaelic: Port na Crois) is a hamlet near Farland Head in North Ayrshire, Scotland. Situated about 3 km west of Seamill and about 2 km south of Hunterston B nuclear power station, it is noted for its castle. It has two harbours and a pier. The "Old Harbour" is actually a small tidal inlet next to the castle, and is part of the castle property.

Portencross Castle

Portencross Castle, also known historically as Portincross Castle, is situated in Portencross, on the west coast of Scotland, about 3km from West Kilbride. The site has been fortified since the 13th Century. The present building is thought to date from the 14th Century and later, when the castle was moved from the nearby Auld Hill to its present site overlooking the harbour.

Horse Isle

Horse Isle (Gaelic - Eilean nam Eich) is an uninhabited island located in the Firth of Clyde, Scotland near the seaside town of Ardrossan. It is a nature reserve, run by the RSPB.
