Abernant, Powys
Abernant is a hamlet 6 miles south of Builth Wells, Powys. The spring forms above Abernant, near the summit of Banc y Celyn (472m), and runs through Abernant to join the River Wye. There is a large adventure centre, a branch of Manor Adventure, that operates from an old hotel in Abernant. There is also a mine in the hills outside the village.

Erwood railway station
Erwood railway station lay about 1 kilometre from Erwood, Powys, Wales. It was closed on 31 December 1962 and the trackbed removed. It lay on the old Cambrian Railways between Brecon and Builth Wells. The line finally reached Moat Lane junction on the Shrewsbury Machynlleth branch. The station building has been reconstructed by a Derbyshire couple but the platforms remain in situ. The station house is intact with extensions.

Radnorshire was one of three districts of the county of Powys, Wales, from 1974 - 1996. The district had an identical area to the previous administrative county of Radnorshire. The district was formed as Radnor on 1 April 1974 as part of a general reorganisation of local government in England and Wales under the Local Government Act 1972.
