Cilycwm

Cilycwm is a village and parish located in Carmarthenshire, West Wales. Cilycwm lies on the west bank of Afon Gwenlais, a tributary of the Tywi, north of the town of Llandovery. Pont Dolauhirion, a bridge that crosses the Tywi at the south of the community was designed by William Edward's and is a copy of his famous bridge at Pontypridd.

Trefawr Track

Trefawr Track, a forestry road north of Cwm-coed-Aeron Farm, Llandovery, Wales, is the location of the Global Boundary Stratotype Section and Point (GSSP) which marks the boundary between the Rhuddanian and Aeronian stages of the Silurian period on the geologic time scale. The GSSP was ratified in 1984. The boundary is defined as the first appearance of the graptolite Monograptus austerus sequens (the base of the Monograptus triangulatus biozone).

Mynydd Mallaen

Mynydd Mallaen is an expansive hill to the northwest of Cilycwm in northeast Carmarthenshire, Wales. It takes the form of an undulating plateau with steep slopes dropping away to the Towy valley to the east and those of the Gwenffrwd, Nant Melyn and Afon Cothi to the north and west. Its highest point of 462m at OS grid reference SN 723455 is surmounted by two Bronze Age cairns known as Crugiau Merched (which translates from Welsh as ladies barrows).

Cynghordy railway station

Cynghordy railway station serves the rural community of Cynghordy near Llandovery, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The station is on the Heart of Wales Line 46¾ miles (75 km) north east of Swansea. The station is located at street level at the end of a gravel track off a lane that is just off the main A483 road. The station had no facilities whatsoever (see picture, right) but a shelter has recently been provided (see station information right).
