The station is unmanned and is a request stop, this means that if you are on the train you must advise the train manager that you wish to alight at Ferryside. Ferryside (Welsh: Glan y Fferi) is a village situated on the coast in Carmarthenshire, Wales, UK. It is 8+⁄2 miles south of Carmarthen, near the mouth of the River Tywi and close to golden sandy beaches.

Ferryside television relay station

Ferryside television relay station is a small TV relay in the village of Ferryside, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The Ferryside relay is fed with the off-air signal from Preseli about 28 km to the northwest. It is one of the few UK broadcasting transmitters using a wooden pole as aerial tower.

River Gwendraeth

The River Gwendraeth is a river in Carmarthenshire in west Wales. It has two almost equal branches that have their confluence in their joint estuary at Carmarthen Bay. The Gwendraeth Fawr (Large Gwendraeth in Welsh) is surprisingly the smaller and has its source in a series of springs to the north of Cross Hands, the most northerly of which rises to the north of Gorslas in the Llyn Llech Owain Country Park, just above the 585-foot contour.
