Aberystwyth Cliff Railway

The Aberystwyth Cliff Railway (Welsh: Rheilffordd y Graig) is a funicular railway in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, Wales. Opened in 1896 at 778 feet in length, it was the longest funicular railway in the British Isles, since surpassed in length by the Cairngorm Mountain Railway at 1,970m in length with a height difference of 462m.

Penglais Nature Park

Penglais Nature Park (Welsh: Parc Natur Penglais) is a woodland situated in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion in Wales. The park is a combination of woodland and a disused quarry. Spring brings a display of a carpet of bluebells in common with the many other bluebell woods. Opened in 1995, it covers 27 acres; it was the first Nature reserve to open in Ceredigion and is the only UNESCO Man and Biosphere urban reserve in Wales.

Penweddig Community Secondary School (Welsh: Ysgol Gyfun Gymunedol Penweddig) is a successful Welsh-language secondary school in Aberystwyth, Wales. The school was established in 1973 and now educates girls and boys between the ages of 11 and 18 through the medium of Welsh. The school was the first Welsh language secondary school in Ceredigion and is named after the cantref of Penweddig, the northern part of the Kingdom of Ceredigion, between the rivers Dyfi and Ystwyth.

Aberystwyth University

Aberystwyth University is a university located in Aberystwyth, Wales. Aberystwyth was a founding Member Institution of the former federal University of Wales. In 2006 the university had over 12,000 students in seventeen academic departments. Founded in 1872 as University College Wales, Aberystwyth became a founder member of the University of Wales in 1894 and changed its name to the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth.
