Llansantffraid, Ceredigion

Llansantffraid or Llansantffraed is a small rural village near (and virtually merged with) Llanon, just west of the main A487 Coastal Road between Aberaeron and Aberystwyth, about eleven miles from Aberystwyth. The population in 2001 was 1,241.

Dylan Thomas Trail

The Dylan Thomas Trail runs through places associated with the poet Dylan Thomas in Ceredigion, west Wales. It was officially opened by Aeronwy Thomas, Dylan’s daughter, in July 2003. The trail is marked by blue plaques and information boards in Lampeter, Aberaeron and New Quay. Llanrhystud

Llanrhystud is a middle-sized seaside village (technically a post town) on the A487 road in the county of Ceredigion, nine miles south of Aberystwyth, Wales. It is named after the early Christian Welsh saint Rhystud.

Gaer Penrhôs

Gaer Penrhôs, in Ceredigion, Wales, was a ringwork castle at the summit of a steep hill near the village of Llanrhystud; now all that remains are the outlines of its ringworks. Through the years it has variously been referred to as Llanrhystud Castle and Castell Cadwaladr and has likely been the site of more than one structure. Gaer Penrhôs commands a view into the mountains of the Ystwyth Valley and over Cardigan Bay.

River Arth

The River Arth is a small river that emerges in the hills near Bethania, Ceredigion, Wales, which runs west for 15 miles and discharges its waters into Cardigan Bay at Aberarth. Despite its small size it is one of the few rivers in Britain which has a bore when the incoming tide cause a tidal wave to run upstream. The Arth bore is only a few inches high and it runs only for a short distance upstream.
