Pont Rug (Halt) railway station

Pont Rug was a railway station located to the east of Caernarfon, Gwynedd, where the A4086 road crosses the Afon Seiont. The station was closed for regular passenger services in 1932 but freight trains passed through until the line closed in December 1964.

Waunfawr

Waunfawr is a large village on the outskirts of the Snowdonia National Park, Gwynedd, in Wales, south of Llanrug. Its population is roughly 1,500 Waunfawr railway station on the Welsh Highland Railway between Caernarfon and Porthmadog adjoins the Snowdonia Park Brewpub and Inn at the southern end of the village. The brewpub is a recent winner of the CAMRY award for a number of its beers and voted best pub in the region for 2012.

Menai Strait

The Menai Strait (Welsh: Afon Menai, the "River Menai") is a narrow stretch of shallow tidal water about 25 km long, which separates the island of Anglesey from the mainland of Wales. The strait is bridged in two places - the main A5 road is carried over the strait by Thomas Telford's elegant iron suspension bridge, the first of its kind, opened in January 1826, and adjacent to this is Robert Stephenson's 1850 Britannia Tubular Bridge.
