The Tabernacle, Machynlleth

The Tabernacle, Machynlleth, is a former Wesleyan chapel. In the mid-1980s, it was converted from a Wesleyan chapel into a centre for the performing arts, opening in 1986. Since then the Museum of Modern Art has grown up alongside it, with six exhibition spaces. The Auditorium of The Tabernacle has excellent acoustics and Pitch Pine pews to seat 350 people. Chamber and choral music, drama, lectures and conferences regularly take place here.

MOMA, Wales

MOMA or Museum of Modern Art adjacent to Y Tabernacl (English: The Tabernacle) is located in Machynlleth, Powys, Mid Wales. The Tabernacle was converted in the mid-1980s from a Wesleyan chapel into a centre for the performing arts. Since then the Museum of Modern Art has grown up alongside it, with six exhibition spaces. The Machynlleth Festival takes place in the Auditorium in late August every year.

Plas Machynlleth

Plas Machynlleth was the Welsh residence of the Marquesses of Londonderry. It is situated in the market town of Machynlleth in Powys, Wales. It was brought into the family by the marriage of George Henry Robert Charles William Vane-Tempest, Viscount Seaham (and subsequently Earl Vane and 5th Marquess of Londonderry), to Mary Cornelia Edwards, whose father Sir John Edwards had extended and renamed the house.

River Dovey

The River Dovey (Afon Dyfi in Welsh) is a river in Mid Wales. The Dovey estuary forms the border between the counties of Gwynedd and Ceredigion.

Ffridd Gate railway station

Ffridd Gate was a station on the Corris Railway in Wales, serving the hamlet of the same name near to where the Afon Dulas meets the Afon Dyfi and the village of Llanwrin. South of the station was the railway's bridge over the Dyfi, originally a wooden trestle construction and later a three-span steel bridge. The site of the bridge is now occupied by the Millennium Bridge for walkers and cyclists, providing a short-cut to Machynlleth.
