St Peter ad Vincula, Pennal

The parish church of St Peter ad Vincula in the village of Pennal in Gwynedd, north-west Wales, is notable as the site of the last senate meeting held by the renegade Welsh prince, Owain Glyndŵr. It was founded in the 6th century. It is thought that the church was so named by Glyndŵr in competition with the chapel of St Peter ad Vincula in the Tower of London, one of the chapels royal of his rival, King Henry IV of England.

Dovey Junction railway station

Dovey Junction railway station is a railway station on the Cambrian Line in Wales. It is the junction where the line splits into the line to Aberystwyth and the Cambrian Coast Line to Pwllheli. Passenger services are provided by Arriva Trains Wales. Allowing for the inclusion of outlying buildings and signals, it is routinely claimed that Dovey Junction lies at the intersection of three counties, these being the traditional Welsh counties of Meirionydd, Montgomery and Ceredigion.

Plas Machynlleth

Plas Machynlleth was the Welsh residence of the Marquesses of Londonderry. It is situated in the market town of Machynlleth in Powys, Wales. It was brought into the family by the marriage of George Henry Robert Charles William Vane-Tempest, Viscount Seaham (and subsequently Earl Vane and 5th Marquess of Londonderry), to Mary Cornelia Edwards, whose father Sir John Edwards had extended and renamed the house.

Ynys-hir RSPB reserve

Ynys-hir RSPB reserve is a nature reserve of the RSPB situated beside the Dyfi estuary in Ceredigion, Mid Wales between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth. The reserve covers 550 hectares and includes a variety of habitats extending inland from mudflats and salt marsh through farmland and pools to oak woodland and hillside scrub. Facilities include a small visitor centre and seven hides. The name means "long island" in Welsh referring to a wooded ridge which was once surrounded by marshland.
