Pentraeth

Pentraeth is a village on the island of Anglesey (Ynys Môn), North Wales, at grid reference SH523786. The Royal Mail postcode begins LL75. Its Welsh name means at the end of (or head of) a beach, and it is located near Traeth Coch (Red Wharf Bay). There is a small river, Afon Nodwydd which runs through it. The village's ancient name was Llanfair Betws Geraint.

Traeth Coch

Traeth Coch (Welsh for Red Beach) is a wide sandy bay and an area of outstanding natural beauty on the east coast of the island of Anglesey in Wales. The bay is also known in English as Red Wharf Bay and lies between the villages of Pentraeth and Benllech. Each year the Red Wharf Bay Sailing Club Anglesey Offshore Dinghy Race takes place from Beaumaris to Traeth Bychan. The race over 14 miles up the Menai Strait and down the Anglesey coast is an exhilarating sail.

Red Wharf Bay branch line

The Red Wharf Bay branch line was a standard gauge railway line in Anglesey, Wales, a branch off the Anglesey Central Railway. It opened fully in 1909, but closed to passengers in September 1930. Freight operations continued until 3 April 1950, and the tracks were lifted during the summer of 1953.

Penmynydd

Penmynydd (Welsh = top of the mountain) is a village on Anglesey situated on a slight hill on the B5420 road between Menai Bridge and Llangefni, at grid reference SH510743. The Royal Mail postcode begins LL61. The village is notable for its almshouses and there is a radio transmission mast a few yards north of the village at the top of the hill.

Llansadwrn, Anglesey

Llansadwrn is a small village in south-east Anglesey, in north-west Wales. It lies between Menai Bridge, Pentraeth and Beaumaris. It is named after the church, founded in the 6th century by Saint Saturninus, who together with his wife, is commemorated by an early Christian monument. The village was the birthplace of Wyn Roberts, Baron Roberts of Conwy who was a notable Conservative front-bencher for many years.
