Sharpe Field
Sharpe Field is a private use airport located six nautical miles (11 km) northwest of the central business district of Tuskegee, a city in Macon County, Alabama, United States. This airport is privately owned by the Bradbury Family Partnership. Formerly known as Tuskegee Army Airfield, Sharpe Field was to used train the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II. It provided advanced training for the graduates of nearby Moton Field. Most of the history of the Tuskegee Airmen was made at this site.

Tuskegee Veterans Administration Medical Center
The Tuskegee Veterans Administration Medical Center began in 1923 as an old soldiers' home originally called the Tuskegee Home, part of the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers system. The home-hospital, eventually 27 buildings, was created next to the Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute campus on 464 acres donated by the Institute.

Tuskegee has been an important site in various stages of African American history. It is where, in 1881, Booker T. Washington founded the Tuskegee Normal School for Colored Teachers on a former plantation. It was later named the Tuskegee Institute and then Tuskegee University, with the mission of educating freedmen for self-sufficiency.
