Cornwall Furnace, Alabama

Cornwall Furnace is located near Cedar Bluff, Alabama in Cherokee County. It was built by the Noble Brothers to supply iron products to the Confederate States of America during the United States' Civil War. The Noble Brothers operated an iron foundry in Rome, Georgia and the Confederate State of America provided the financing to build the furnace. The Noble Brothers signed a contract with the government in August, 1862 and construction of the furnace began shortly thereafter.

It is owned by the City of Centre. This airport is included in the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015 and 2009–2013, both of which categorized it as a general aviation facility.

WEIS (100.5 FM, 990 AM) is an American radio station licensed to the community of Centre, Alabama. The station serves the Gadsden, Alabama and Anniston, Alabama, area. The station is owned by Baker Enterprises, Inc. It airs a Country music format during the day and Southern Gospel music at night and all day on Sunday. In addition to its music programming, WEIS broadcasts news updates all day plus Atlanta Braves baseball, Auburn Tigers football, and daily Weiss Lake fishing reports.
