Cross Sound
Cross Sound is a passage in the Alexander Archipelago in the southeastern region of the U.S. state of Alaska, located between Chichagof Island to its south and the mainland to its north. It is 48 km long and extends from the Gulf of Alaska to Icy Strait. Cross Sound was named by James Cook in 1778 because he found it on May 3, designated on his calendar as Holy Cross day. The Cape Spencer Light marks the north side of the entrance to the sound from Gulf of Alaska.

1958 Lituya Bay megatsunami
The 1958 Lituya Bay megatsunami occurred on July 9, 1958, when an earthquake triggered a landslide that caused 30 million cubic metres of rock and ice to fall into the narrow inlet of Lituya Bay, Alaska. The sudden displacement of water resulted in a wave hundreds of metres high, that washed over trees and was ultimately measured as washing 524 metres (1,720 feet) up the opposite slope of the inlet, 143 metres (470 feet) taller than the roof of the Empire State Building.

Yakobi Island
Yakobi Island is an island in the Alexander Archipelago of southeastern Alaska, United States. It lies just off the western edge of Chichagof Island, separated from it by Lisianski Inlet and Lisianski Strait. The island has a land area of 82.37 sq mi (213.3 km²) and no permanent resident population. Yakobi Island was named by Baranov after Ivan Iakobi, the governor-general of Irkutsk and Kolyvan. The Tlingit name for the island is Takhanes.
