Wales, Alaska
Wales is a city in the Nome Census Area, Alaska, United States. At the 2010 census the population was 145. It is the westernmost American city on mainland North America. The westernmost city in Alaska, however, is Diomede on Little Diomede Island. Wales Airport serves Wales with flights on Bering Air and Era Alaska to Nome.

Wales Site
The Wales Site is a well-documented archeological site on the Cape Prince of Wales, near Wales, Alaska. It is a pre contact site for the indigenous population which can help illuminate non-industrial whaling practices from the 9th century through the early 19th century. This site has artifacts from the Birnirk culture as well as the first discovery of the later Thule culture. Roger Harritt of the University of Alaska, Anchorage has been doing extensive investigations for over 10 years onsite.

Cape Prince of Wales
Cape Prince of Wales is the westernmost point on the mainland of the Americas. It has been named in 1778 by Captain James Cook of the British Royal Navy for the Prince of Wales George Augustus Frederick. Located on the Seward Peninsula of the U.S. state of Alaska near the city of Wales, Cape Prince of Wales is the terminus of the Continental Divide, marking the division between the Pacific and Arctic coasts, as well as marking the limit between the Bering Sea and the Chukchi Sea.

Tin City Air Force Station
Tin City Air Force Station is a closed United States Air Force General Surveillance Radar station. It is located 106.3 miles west-northwest of Nome, Alaska. The radar surveillance station was closed on 1 November 1983, and was re-designated as a Long Range Radar (LRR) site as part of the Alaska Radar System. Today, it remains active as part of the Alaska NORAD Region under the jurisdiction of the 611th Air and Space Operations Center, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska.
